Afternoon Darkness by Nicholas Meehan
This entire picture was actually just a snap and go but ended up to be more than just a view. I took this in Bayonne park overlooking the bridge as well as the low-tide bay. The clouds played a major roll along with the sun to give it that darkening look which also made it somewhat more interesting than an everyday sunset. I did not modify the picture in any way because I let the natural presence of everything coming together to create such a sight. From the clouds, to the sun reflecting off the water, just the sun’s natural light created this whole image. Now that I think about it having taken this photograph actually wasn’t a mistake at all.
I feel like this photo had a lot to offer. The structures such as the bridge and the dock balanced out the sunset very nicely. The thing that I loved the most was that he did not alter the photo in anyway. I think that helped capture the true beauty of the scenery.

ReplyDeleteI like this picture because the darkness and clouds make it look like a gloomy, cold, winter day, but the light of the sun is trying to come through as if saying there is good things to come.

ReplyDeleteI like this photo because of the contrast between light and dark. The structures also balance each other out perfectly with the sun. This is a perfect example of using the sun's natural light to create a scenery.

ReplyDeleteThis picture creates a mood that grabs your attention. The bright orange of the sun in the background is a great contrast to the darkness of the up close surroundings. The way the sun is also reflected in the water creates even more of the contrast. Overall this picture has a little bit of everything in it.

ReplyDeleteI thought that this was the chillest photo because the colors from the horizon gives it a surreal feeling. Moreover, it incorporates reflection as well as contrasting colors of the sun and darkness around it.
ReplyDeleteI like this photograph because it gives an almost indescribable aura of home and warmth but also an apt sense of angst and melancholy. The sky is not the picturesque baby blue with clear white clouds; it is dark with shades of black juxtaposed by the sun's orange glares. Seeing the beauty of nature - such as the calming water and sandy beach-line - and the robustness of man - such as the cast-iron behemoth bridge - additionally gives a sense of thought-provoking worldliness.
ReplyDeleteI like this photo because I feel that the photographer captured the light at the perfect angle and time of the day. The landscape is very unique. The light adds beauty to a view that would often go unnoticed by the average person.

ReplyDeleteI really like this picture because there are many elements presented. There is the bridge, the dock and the sun which is beautifully portrayed. I love the sky and the calm water. The different colors and contrast are just perfect. I also really love the angle and scene of the picture. This is definitely a picture that I would have as a background on my computer.

The contrast between light and dark is perfect and balances out the sun. The contrast of the sky brings out the whole picture perfectly. The structure of the overall photo has great eye appeal, and creates an overall peaceful scenery.
